Questions? We've got answers.
You may work solo, but you’re not alone. West Tenth has a community of entrepreneurs to help you navigate the adventure of growing your home business.
Here are some of the common business questions we love answering:
-
How much should I charge for my products or services? This is the million dollar question for any business! Once you know your expenses and set your profit margin (how much you want to make after expenses), you can easily back into your price. We’ve created a simple pricing tool to help you set prices for services and goods. Sign up on our website to receive a free downloadable pricing calculator.
-
Do I need a business license? The good news is you don’t need to incorporate or form an LLC to start a business. Most home businesses are set up as a sole proprietorship and all you need to do is obtain a business license from your city or county. The process is quite simple and typically requires a small fee. Keep in mind, some services such as cosmetology or home baking may require a separate license.
-
How can I make money from home? Many talents and skills are monetizable and can be turned into a profitable home business. If you need help thinking of a business idea, start with asking yourself these questions. Is there something your friends and family always ask you to do for them? What skills do you have that could help your neighbor or community?
-
Do I need a website to start a business?Nope! Building and maintaining websites can be pricey and are difficult to drive traffic to without investing in expensive digital advertising. Save your precious dollars and time by utilizing free or affordable third party tools or marketplaces to host your business on. We recommend using West Tenth in lieu of a website!
